I remember a time when baseball teams didn't care much for their opponents. A time when Roger made a habit at throwing at Piazza's head. A time when throwing 70 year old bench coaches to the turf was admirable. A time when pitching high and tight wasn't only done but expected. Apparently those times are saved for generations past.
There is nothing wrong with respecting your opponents....after the game. For the Twins to take the next step and become a true title contender its time for them to input a little nastiness into their game.
Mainly lets stop chatting it up in the infield. Last night Morneau was smirking and smiling with his old pals Torii Hunter and Hideki Matsui. Yep you heard me, Hunter and Matsui. The first guy punched him and other speaks about five words of English. Apparently Mauer doesn't talk to him enough. Am I the only one that wished our brutting Canadien just grunted and spit when runners dared to take a lead at first? I think its time for Justin to put in the tape of Mr. Hrbek and start pretending its Game 7. And I know O-dog can't stop talking long enough to chew his gum but last night I thought he was going to call in the medi-vac when his cleat MAY have grazed his holiness Mr. Abreu.
Come on boys, spring training is over, this is for real. At least put your glove over your face so rubes like myself can at least imagine you actually have a distaste for the other guy.
